The seniors combined to average over 32 points and 12 rebounds per game. With help from Junior, Bo Outlaw, the Cougars went 22 5 during the regular season to win the SWC regular season championship. With their NCAA tournament hopes hanging in the balance, Houston needed to win the SWC tournament to ensure a bid. They did just that, winning 3 games
